Are interested and you have some questions before deciding which one to choose?
Below here you will find answers to some frequently asked questions to give you more information about the services offered.
You will get an invoice and a welcome email with the most important information you need to know before you book the first meeting. Then you can schedule the first available date in my calendar that fits you the most. When I get your appointment booking request, I will confirm it with a Google Meet link and the agenda of our first meeting so you can come prepared. You might need to wait 2-3 weeks due to my waiting list to be able to schedule the first appointment but clients usually use this time to get prepared for the meeting. Meanwhile, may you have any preliminary questions; I can be contacted via email anytime.
We will meet online, using Google Meet. This is a secure online platform for our confidential meetings as it has encryption, authentication, and important privacy features. Meeting online might have some further benefits beyond being time and cost effective as well: Clients usually get engaged with online interviews and meetings more easily as they feel more able to share thoughts and emotions and unveil sensitive issues.
One session lasts 60 minutes and usually there are 2-3 weeks between the meetings. This allows you to progress with the actions we discussed and reflect on them. If you have a busy period in your life when this meeting frequency seems not to fit in at all, you might want to review your priorities ongoing and make a decision only when you can commit yourself to such an intensity of focussed working on your aims and goals.
Beyond my more than 25 years of professional experience as a consultant, trainer, mentor, coach, and practitioner, I have a strong academic background in economics; teaching; organisational and business psychology; general psychology; health and wellbeing. I’m also a PhD researcher. I’m professionally affiliated with the Society of Industrial and Organizational Psychology (American Psychological Association). However, I’m a life-long learner so I keep learning and developing my professional and academic knowledge and skills.
In order to better understand your individual context and needs, I have to holistically and multi-dimensionally explore the various biopsychosocial factors (physical, mental, interpersonal, social, psychological, etc.) impacting your health, sense of wellbeing, life-satisfaction, and your personal and professional growth. I will use only reliable and evidence-based measurements and assessment tools that I’m qualified to administer and evaluate. The types and number of assessments that you need to complete depend on your individual challenges and developmental goals.
The results and findings coming from these assessments are highly confidential, and I have strict data storage and disposal procedures to maintain confidentiality and privacy. However, there is always an option to choose not to answer one or some of the questions – if you feel uncomfortable to respond them – at any time without needing to give a reason.
Yes, whatever you share with me remains confidential during the consultation and after it as well. When starting our collaboration, we will establish a confidentiality agreement that not only complies with the current data protection regulations such as GDPR or the Data Protection Act (2018) but also with the principles of the Code of Ethics and Conduct and the Practice Guidelines of the British Psychological Society and the Code of Ethics of the American Psychological Association. Adhering to these standards act as a compass when there are any ethical dilemmas or challenges and helps foster a safe and private environment for your diagnostic and development experience. In addition, I always consult from a quiet and private place (I recommend you that you also should check in from a place that is comfortable and without background noise) so you can talk without any distractions or interruptions.
I will work with you in a co-creative and collaborative way tailored to your individual context and needs as I don’t employ a one-size fits all approach. For diagnosis, I use approaches and tools fit your aims to enter your world and to see your context and needs through your eyes in order to gain an in-depth understanding of your values and motivation.
Then, during your development programme, you can expect me to respect your autonomy and right to have a control over your decisions and actions. First, I empower you with the knowledge needed for having an informed exercise of a choice. Then based on your individual needs, I either help your decision making with further interpretation and evaluation of possible actions and training the skills needed (co-creation), or take a deliberative approach by building more on your own problem-solving skills with discussion and agreement of the actions (collaboration) to address your personal and professional challenges.
What you can always expect from me is my commitment to support your achievable change and development goals as much as you allow me to do so. I provide an organized, focused, encouraging, direct guidance, feedback, and accountability with care and inspiration throughout our working together.
Though coaching and consultation are both useful approaches to implement personal and professional changes and maintain them and they are interrelated in many ways, they differ in some dimensions as well. Coaching is rather future oriented (but not limited only to that) as it focusses on establishing a vision, setting goals, identifying actions needed to achieve them and there are various tools that drive the process and help individuals to become better and better. However, consultation help identify the various factors that have an impact on the problems, challenges, unmet needs, barriers or blocks in the reality of the individual or the organisation and after having assessed them in a systematic way, it can provide training, advice, solutions, or expertise, and then it facilitates the development process to address the challenges and meet the objectives. Although, when consulting with individuals, I tailor my approach to each client, often borrow coaching techniques that can support behaviour change, and make my clients accountable for their progress.
People can be very different in terms of their strengths, risk-taking, or how they handle frustrations and challenges. Though similarities and differences in how they make decisions, set goals, manage commitments, engage with or express affinity towards tasks and people, or respond to stress can make working together smoother or bumpier, I adapt to people’s needs and motivation easily in my practice if we share the same vision (your achievable goals agreed) and we both are committed to make it work. However, if you wish to experience whether we would have the minimum level of affinity needed for respectful communication about your reality, I offer you a 25-minute check in session of no obligation or cost as a complimentary online meeting. You can take this opportunity to see how we could trust and work together in the future. Book this complimentary session here!
I have a 48-hour cancellation policy. If you cancel the meeting or reschedule it by respecting this notice period, you can keep the meeting credit. Any cancellations with less than 48 hour notice will be required to pay 100% of the service reserved.
